When you stay at the hôtel de Genève you are close to one of Paris's legendary attractions: the Galeries Lafayette. This is the place that prompted an ecstatic Mrs Krushchev to exclaim, in front of the escalators: “It's like the Moscow metro!” Don't miss the opportunity to see the inside of its famous dome!
The Galaries Lafayette seem to attract as many visitors as the Eiffel Tower! Perhaps they actually do. In any case, and without doubt, they attract the crème de la crème: the Duchess of Windsor, Bill Clinton, and even Prince Charles have all been seen there. So how about you?
Are you familiar with this “novelty store”, which happily celebrated its 110th birthday last year? With its 5 floors, its balconies, its dome, its Louis Majorelle-designed Art Nouveau balusters, its great hall, and its rooftop terrace, allowing you to take in the whole of Paris at a glance, it really has everything. And as it's located close to your hotel, it really is worth going to see!

This Augustus has nothing to do with the eponymous, sad-looking clown of the same name! But rather he is one of the men who changed the face of the World. Two thousand years after his death, the Grand Palais and the Louvre Museum are inviting you to rediscover the man who transformed the Republic into an Empire, and made Rome... center of the world. This is an exceptional exhibition, and one not to miss during your stay at the Hôtel de Genève.
The exhibition contains statues, sculptural reliefs, frescoes, furniture pieces and silverware, as well as outstanding reconstructions of both a villa from the slopes of Vesuvius and Gallic tombs: ancient Italy itself on excursion to Paris, from March 19 to July 13. The only things missing are some Italian stone pine trees and the hot southern sun.
The Empire's founder. In bringing you face to face with the founder of what would later be called the Roman Empire, the exhibition recreates not just the whole atmosphere of this “golden age” of antiquity, but the personality of this great politician and soldier, this great lover of art, as well. As a patron of the arts, Auguste supported artists such as Virgil, Horace, Livy, Ovid, and others.

If Verdi and Wagner were alive in the 21st century, they would perhaps stop at the Hôtel de Genève, not far from the Opéra Garnier. And they certainly would not miss the chance to attend the special season in their honour at the Opéra Garnier, running until March 16. Go and experience it as both music-lover and neighbor when you stay at our hotel!
The season has been organized to celebrate the bicentenary of the births of these two giants of the opera world. And if a musical and operatic impulse should draw you to the Opéra Garnier during your stay, be sure to trace the lives of the composers of Aïda and Tannhäuser at the Opera's museum library.
Two giants in Paris. There, as at the Bibliothèque Nationale, you will find a proliferation of fascinating mementos and documents tracing not just the lives of the two composers, but performances of their works over the course of the 20th century as well. These two musical giants, who never met during their lifetimes, are celebrated together here, quite fittingly.
